Geodesic covers are an efficient and safe way to cover medium and large sports fields. They can be made of a metal lattice structure or laminated wood. This is the case for the project for an 18×36 cover made of PVC-coated polyester fabric. The design of the cover and the cuts in the textile membrane is based on an accurate 3D model of the wooden framework, which must be assembled in a workmanlike manner according to the project specifications. The textile membrane is manufactured to a design by Maco Technology, taking into account the geometry but also the elongation of the fabric during assembly and pre-tensioning. The aesthetic result can be appreciated in the details of the edges and corners. This type of covering can be made with a single or double sheet, depending on the client’s requirements in terms of comfort and condensation limitation.
