Tensile Structures
Client: Private villaData: 2013
Info: Permanent pagoda structure
The pagoda is intended to be an innovative gazebo in which stability comes from the strength of just four cables that simultaneously tension the cover fabric at the top, and four lower cables to a central pole (called the “flying mast”). This pole is then compressed between the fabric and the cables, in equilibrium.
The four-pole pagoda is stretched only by four cables attached to the ends of the four poles. At the center, a 2-meter flying mast is compressed between the cables and the membrane.
