Info: Free-form marquee with cable-stayed pillars of 230 m2
For the Cittadella della Musica in Marone, on Lake Iseo, a marquee covers a multi-purpose hall with a stage for shows and musical events. The marquee, in the beautiful setting of an olive grove overlooking the lake shore, covers a net area of 230 square metres and allows for indoor performances and events. The marquee offers, in this case, a perfect combination of functionality and aesthetics as other roofing solutions would have had a much more invasive architectural impact and would not have been accepted due to the uniqueness of the location. The tensile structure, for the most part transparent to the eye, always allows the panorama to be seen but at the same time makes the stage area usable 365 days a year. Structurally, the marquee is characterised by the presence of a strut connecting the two high pillars. The reason for this element is to lighten the tension of the stays and thus minimise the foundations at those points, as the structure is installed only a few metres from the lake and there are technical difficulties in building large foundations.
