The 36×36 air-supported structure photographed here covers two tennis courts. The air-supported structure uses the special “ecoshell” technology developed by Maco Technology, a double layer of PVC-coated polyester fabric in which there are no thermal bridges except at the base of the air-supported structure, near the foundations. The two sheets therefore always remain separated from each other, ensuring a well-ventilated insulating air chamber. This system guarantees far greater thermal comfort than traditional single-layer or double-membrane systems (i.e., with thermal bridges along the welds) thanks to a higher surface temperature of the internal membrane. Ecoshell pressure switches also solve the problem of condensation, which is always annoying in this type of structure.

A 36×36 tennis court is covered by an air-hall based on a double layer system.The two layers are connected only at the anchorage therefore no thermal bridges are present in the whole envelope.Risk of moisture on the internal surface is therefore avoided.This double layer system drastically improves the internal comfort mainly due to the higher temperature on the inner liner.
