The Italian pavilion for Expo Dubai 2020 was designed by Carlo Ratti Associates, Italo Rota and Matteo Gatto in collaboration with F&M Ingegneria. Maco Technology provided its consultancy for the architectural and structural design of the roof of the pavilion made up of a series of ETFE cushions of different shapes and sizes. The complexity of the work derives from the free and three-dimensional form of the substructure to which the ETFE envelope will be conncected. The covered area will be about 1600 square meters and the internal comfort will be guaranteed by a triple layer cushion system with solar factor G = 0.2.
