Info: Educational greenhouse made of steel arches and double-layer ETFE envelope
The educational greenhouse built at Radicepura, (Catania) is certainly one of the most complex projects realised by Maco Technology. Designed by architect André Thomas Balla, the greenhouse consists of a series of arches with variable radius, inclined and rotated to form a sinuous organic volume. The total surface area in ETFE is 1250 square metres. The 78 cushions that compose it are all different in shape and size and are printed with different print gradients designed to best shade the greenhouse depending on the orientation of the sun.
