One of the main requirements in the world of biogas plants but also in many agro-food industries is the covering of digestate tanks. In the case of very large tanks with vertical walls, a floating cover is the best solution as it allows, at the same time, the collection of rainwater, the prevention of the emission of pollutants and gases into the atmosphere and the recovery, if present, of methane. The roofing of the digestate storage tank of the sludge and wet waste disposal plant with dimensions of 64 metres in diameter and 18 metres in height involves the use of inflatable technology in order to create a sufficiently tensioned cover that can drive the collection of rainwater and the recovery of methane gas created below the textile membrane. The system consists of a 200-metre torus measuring 2 metres in diameter and 8 truncated cone elements varying in length between 25 and 30 metres and with a radius of between 2 and 2.7 metres.
